Young leaves have a cucumber flavor which can be used in salads or cooked. The purple-to-pink flowers are also edible, and beautiful as a garnish in food or drink.
Tall stalks can flop over but plant will continue to grow. Staking may help. Sometimes die out before summer's end, but may self-seed for the following year. Very easy to grow.
